´╗┐´╗┐MTYAA Baseball Families-

We hope this message finds you all safe and healthy.

As we have navigated through this pandemic there have been many unkn it owns, including how the youth baseball season would turn out. Although there have been many unknowns the board has been in constant communication to make the best decisions regarding our kids playing baseball this year. We have talked to parents, coaches, kids, national youth baseball officials, city officials, state officials, and other local PONY baseball organizations and Little Leagues. Ultimately, our discussions have centered around 3 objectives:

- comply with government and health regulations

- keep the needs of MTYAA families in mind

- not run the League into financial ruin

We appreciate your patience while we have have made sure that we are making the best decisions for the league and our community.

At this time, the league is still committed to putting together a baseball season this summer, starting at the end of June and running through July and possibly into early August. We have no intention or desire to interfere with football or soccer.

However, there are still some unknowns, namely whether we can abide by regulations to have the kids play safely and whether or not there will be field availability. Time will tell whether this will be a possibility. A summer baseball season will also depend on the availability of our coaches and whether or not enough players are interested in each division. It is our hope that we can keep most of the teams established for this spring intact. If you are interested in summer baseball, please take the time to fill out the short survey that is at the end of this email.

So what happens now?

Over the last month the board has been working to figure out what our essential, non-refundable costs are for the season that were already made in case refunds needed to be provided. These consist of field costs, field maintenance, credit card processing fees and insurance among a few others. MTYAA is a non-profit organization. We break-even most years, and that includes our annual fundraiser which has not happened this year. This is an unprecedented situation, so we appreciate your patience while we figured this all out.

We are offering the following options regarding your registration at this time. Your action is required for options 1-3.

1. Withdraw and donate your registration costs to the league. MTYAA is a registered 501c3 non-profit. A Tax receipt can be provided if you wish. Please contact us if this is what you would like to chose to do. Money will be spent on league operating costs including scholarships.

2. Withdraw and roll your 100% balance to next season. Your player or players will be registered in the division they will be playing in for 2021. Please note if your player is moving up a division, such as Pinto to Mustang, there will be a balance owed for the difference. Should the league need to increase registration costs this balance will be owed as well. Balances for next season will need to be paid by February 1st of 2021. In addition, if your plans or life changes by this date and you decide not to play in MTYAA next spring you may contact the league and you will be given a refund per option 3.

Please contact the league if you would like to roll your payment and registration to 2021.

3. Withdraw and take a cash refund of 75% of your registration. Starting almost immediately we will begin to process requested refunds. If you are in a dire financial situation and need this expedited please contact us. Otherwise, please be patient as it is difficult for us to receive hundreds of emails and process immediate requests. If you paid by card, the 75% amount will be credited back to you. If you paid by check one will be mailed to you. Please make sure your address is up to date on your account on the MTYAA website if you expect to receive a check. Please email the league if you would like to withdraw and receive a refund.

4. Continue to hold out for MTYAA Baseball this summer. If June comes and goes and we are unable to get anything organized, we will again contact those left and give you the options listed above.

Please respond to this email by June 1st or contact playeragent@mtyaabaseball.org if you do not intend to wait for summer baseball.

A final word:

The MTYAA Baseball board would like to thank everyone who volunteered to make this season a possibility. Many of you helped with getting sponsorships, field cleanup, and coaching among other things. If we do not see you this summer we hope to see you next spring.

Thank you all and stay safe-
